Making use of our visit to the neighborhood we planned our shelter around several key materials: Steel beams, Brick, Glass and Galvanized Steel to mimic the old factories of Liberty Village. My group came up with a shelter featuring triangular roof panels and outer beams spelling "LV" for Liberty Village. My major contribution to this project was in the model making stage. Aiding with model planning, building and model weathering.
This small scale model was created after ideation to better plan for the final model. Figuring out how all the parts came together was achieved with the help of this model.
The final model was constructed using many hand painted plastic parts including polystyrene I-Beams and clear acrylic. The end result is a community hub that brings out the unique characteristics that define Liberty Village.
